Linktree, Beacons, and the rest add their own redirect — handy for swapping links fast, but each hop is a place tracking breaks and load time leaks. The tradeoff: a hosted bio page wins on speed-to-edit and built-in click stats; a self-hosted /links page on your domain wins on clean UTMs, SEO juice, and no third-party going down. Use hosted for creators, self-hosted for brands that care about attribution. Why it matters: every redirect is a tax on your data. Watching this.
