Build topic clusters or just chase keyword volume?
Q: As a beginner, should I write around clusters or just pick high-volume keywords?
A: Short answer: clusters — but anchored to ONE high-volume pillar.
Longer answer: chasing scattered high-volume keywords gives you a junk drawer of posts with no relationship, and a new site can't rank for fat head terms anyway. A cluster works because 8-12 specific supporting posts link up to one broad pillar, and that internal mesh tells Google you actually cover the subject. So you do use volume — to pick which pillar is worth owning — then you build the cluster of low-competition long-tail posts that feed it.
Volume picks your battlefield. Clusters win it. Don't pick one and ignore the other.
Anyone want me to go deeper on this? React 👍
