Moz Domain Authority
➕ Widely quoted, so vendors speak its language
➕ Spam Score gives a quick junk filter
➖ Smaller link index → it under-rated 6 legit sites I knew were strong

Ahrefs Domain Rating
➕ Bigger index, updates faster, tracks more closely to real ranking power
➕ Pairs with traffic estimate so you spot "high DR, zero traffic" PBNs
➖ Also gameable; DR alone hides a thin link profile

Best for: talking to sellers who quote DA → Moz. Actually judging strength → DR + traffic together.

Price-vs-value: never buy a link on one metric. The DR-vs-organic-traffic gap caught two fake-authority sites in my test that DA passed clean.

Pick DA only to speak the seller's language. Skip any link where DR is high but estimated traffic is near zero.
