Asking for 9 fields on your lead form
New to Lead Gen Forms (the form that opens right inside LinkedIn, pre-filled with the person's info)? Here's the rookie mistake: cramming in every field your sales team dreams of.
More fields feel safer. They're not. Each extra question is another reason to tap away. A form asking name, email, phone, company, role, budget, timeline, and team size gets ignored.
The fix: keep it to 3 or 4 fields. Name, work email, company — done. Pre-filled fields convert better, so lean on those.
Think of it like a first date: don't ask for their five-year plan up front.
Why it matters: shorter forms mean more, cheaper leads.
Next step: trim your form to 4 fields max.
