Calendly vs Cal.com: self-hosted booking saved $1,440/yr at 12 seats
Agency needed 12 booking links with team round-robin. Calendly's per-seat math got ugly. We compared.
Calendly ($16/user/mo Teams = ~$2,300/yr for 12)
👍 Polished, zero setup, every integration you'd want out of the box
👎 Per-seat pricing; round-robin and routing locked to higher tiers
Cal.com (Free self-hosted, or $15/user Teams cloud)
👍 Self-hosted = $0 in license, full round-robin and routing forms included; we ran it on a $7/mo droplet
👎 Self-hosting means you patch and maintain it; setup took a dev ~1 day
Self-hosted Cal.com replaced all 12 seats. Total: ~$84/yr server vs ~$2,300 Calendly — a $1,440+ saving after counting setup time, with the same round-robin behavior.
Verdict: Pick Calendly to never think about it, Cal.com if you'll self-host to kill per-seat fees.
Best for: Calendly = small teams wanting zero ops; Cal.com = agencies with a dev and many seats.
