Creator Mode was a button, not a boost
Everyone says: "Turn on Creator Mode and LinkedIn amplifies your posts."
The claim: flipping the toggle unlocks reach, gold-list features, and algorithmic favor.
What's actually true: Creator Mode changed your profile UI — Follow instead of Connect, hashtag topics, a featured section. It never carried a distribution multiplier, and LinkedIn quietly folded it away in 2023 precisely because people mistook a layout change for a ranking signal. Reach didn't move when accounts toggled it on; it moved when their content did.
Credit where due — switching the default button to Follow did help high-volume posters stop maxing out connections. That's a real UX win, not a reach hack.
Tested alternative: optimize the featured section and headline for profile-click-to-follow conversion. That's the actual lever a toggle never was.
It's not the mode. It was always the posts.
