Engagement pods and the decay curve nobody screenshots
Everyone says: "Join a pod, get 30 instant comments, the algorithm pushes you to thousands."
The claim: front-loaded engagement in the golden hour triggers wider distribution. Pods manufacture that hour.
What's actually true: pods inflate the first 60 minutes, then the second hour cliffs. LinkedIn's relevance model weights engagement against your audience's affinity — 30 reactions from people who never click your profile and never convert tell the model your content is noise to your actual followers.
The mechanism nobody posts: same 30 names on every post trains the system that those 30 ARE your reach. Your organic ceiling shrinks to the pod.
Credit where due — a tiny pod of genuine peers who'd comment anyway is harmless. The 200-person Telegram swap is not.
It's not that pods get caught. It's that they teach the feed to ignore you.
