Will niching down shrink my audience too much?
Q: "Everyone says niche down, but won't I run out of people to talk to?"
Short answer: a narrow niche feels small to you but huge to the algorithm and to the person searching. "Cold email" is broad. "Cold email for B2B SaaS founders under $1M" is a magnet — fewer people see it, but the right ones feel like you read their mind.
Niching down doesn't mean you can only ever post one thing. It means you have a clear front door. Once people trust you on the narrow thing, you earn the right to widen later. Most creators quit the narrow phase 3 months too early.
Think about reach differently: 200 people who think "this is exactly me" beat 5,000 who scroll past.
Try this today: finish this line — "I help ___ do ___ without ___." If you can't fill it in 10 seconds, that's your real problem, not size.
