AI auto-commenting is manufacturing the weakest possible signal
Everyone says: "Use an AI tool to leave 50 smart comments a day — engagement is engagement, it grows your reach."
The claim: comment volume builds visibility and reciprocal engagement, and AI lets you scale it.
What's actually true: the comments that move anything are ones that start a thread — a reply, a counterpoint, a question the author answers. Generic AI comments ("Great insight, thanks for sharing!") are thread-enders. They generate a notification and die. Worse, recipients pattern-match the blandness, learn to ignore your name, and your real comments lose weight too.
Volume of dead-end comments isn't a small positive — it's a slow negative on how people read you.
Tested alternative: leave five comments a day that you'd be willing to sign with your face, each engineered to get a reply.
It's not the comment count. It's that nobody answers a robot.
