LEAK: retargeting pixel recovers 31% of abandoned exchange signups
A performance affiliate told us he was leaking nearly all his traffic at the exchange's registration step — people clicked, didn't fund. He added a retargeting layer on his own pre-lander before the handoff.
The numbers reportedly shook out:
— Pixel fires on his lander, not the exchange (which he can't pixel)
— Retargeted the 'clicked-but-didn't-fund' crowd with a deposit-bonus reminder
— Recovered 31% of otherwise-lost signups
— Effective cost per funded account dropped ~24%
The so-what: you can't pixel the exchange's pages, but you CAN pixel your own pre-lander and retarget everyone who bounced after. Most affiliates skip the pre-lander and lose this entirely. The deposit bonus gave the retargeting a hook beyond 'come back.'
Unverified on which network's bonus he used. Watch this.
