We targeted questions 18-24 months old where the top answer was stale and thin. Not trending. Not fresh. "Dead."
Wrote better, more current answers. Within 8 weeks, 11 of 15 climbed to the top spot, displacing answers with a 2-year head start.
Why it works: Quora re-ranks on quality and recent upvotes, not seniority. Google rewards the fresher, more complete answer.
Being first only matters in the 48-hour feed window. After that, the BEST answer wins — and most "first" answers are garbage written in a rush.
Late and great beats early and lazy.
