Q: 'Is FAQ schema on product pages still worth adding after Google cut the rich results?'

Q: 'Is FAQ schema on product pages still worth adding after Google cut the rich results?'

Short answer: For the snippet, mostly no now — but the on-page FAQ content still earned traffic.

The longer version: An auto-parts retailer added genuine FAQ sections ('Will this fit a 2018 Civic?', 'Is installation hard?') to 800 product pages, with FAQPage schema. The rich-result stars-and-dropdowns mostly vanished after Google's pullback — so the SERP looked the same. BUT the FAQ text itself, written from real customer questions, caught long-tail and 'people also ask' queries. Those 800 pages gained 24% more organic clicks over a quarter, almost entirely from new question-shaped searches the FAQs now answered. The schema didn't drive it; the content did.

Rule of thumb: Add FAQs for the content and the answer-box visibility, not the dropdown. The questions are the asset — schema is optional gravy.
