5-post chains vs single posts: 30-day reach breakdown
Tested whether chaining replies (Threads' carousel-style threads) beats standalone posts. Ran 15 five-post chains and 15 singles via Publer over 30 days.
— Chains: 2,400 views on the opener, but post 5 averaged just 310 views
— Singles: 1,300 median, fully read
— Chain openers got 85% more saves than singles
Chains pull a strong opener but bleed 87% of viewers by the fifth post. Worth it only if your payoff is in posts 1-2.
Standout feature: Publer schedules the full chain as one unit, replies and all. Annoying limitation: if the opener fails to publish, the whole chain silently dies with it.
Verdict: front-load value, keep chains to 3 posts. Publer: Worth it for chain scheduling at 12 dollars.
