Screaming Frog vs Sitebulb for a JavaScript-rendering audit
A React storefront wasn't ranking. I tested both with rendering on, real license.
Screaming Frog (JS rendering mode)
➕ Rendered vs raw HTML diff showed 6,000 product links only existed post-JS — Googlebot's render queue was missing them
➖ Rendering 6k URLs ate RAM; I had to switch to database storage mode
Sitebulb
➕ Its rendering report visualised the gap clearly for the client deck
➖ Same RAM pain, slower
The case: Frog's render diff proved the category links weren't in the source. Dev added server-side rendering for navigation. 5 weeks later, indexed product pages jumped from 4k to 11k and organic revenue rose +27%.
Best for: Frog for the forensic raw-vs-rendered diff; Sitebulb to show clients why it matters.
Price-vs-value: Frog's diff alone justified the year's license.
Pick Frog if you suspect JS is hiding links.
Skip default crawl mode on any SPA — render or you'll miss the real problem.
