An image sitemap that surfaced 40 hidden photos

Today's lesson: the image pack — the photo row in results — can only show pictures Google has actually found, and some hide where crawlers miss them.

Real example: an interior-design site loaded its gallery photos with a script, so Google never saw them. Forty great room photos were invisible in search.

What they did:
1. Built an image sitemap (a simple list file pointing Google to every photo).
2. Submitted it in Google Search Console (Google's free site dashboard).
3. Added plain alt text to each image.

Think of it like handing someone a map to rooms they didn't know existed.

Result: within 8 weeks about 30 of those photos appeared in image packs, adding roughly 250 visits a month.
