"A flopped video is dead — move on"
A pet creator pulled 6 videos that flopped under 1,000 views, changed nothing but the first 2 seconds and the cover frame, and re-uploaded them as fresh posts weeks later.
Four of the six re-uploads cleared 20,000 views. Two flopped again.
The received wisdom says a flop proves the content is bad. The 4-for-6 hit rate says the content was often fine; the entry point was broken.
The mechanism: a flop usually means the first cohort swiped early, so the test never expanded. That's a hook problem, not a content problem. A fresh upload gets a brand-new cold cohort — a clean re-roll of the dice with a better opening.
Don't mourn flops. Audit the first two seconds and re-roll. The footage already exists; the only thing that failed was the door.
