Video pins gave his static designs a 3x reach boost
A digital-product seller made only static pins — clean graphics, good keywords, about 12,000 impressions a month. Solid, but flat. He worried video meant fancy editing he couldn't do.
We kept it simple. He filmed five-second clips on his phone — a hand scrolling through the printable, a quick before-and-after — and added the same text overlay and keyword title he used on static pins.
Pinterest was actively favoring video in the feed, so those plain phone clips got pushed to more people. Over two months his video pins averaged about 3x the impressions of his static ones, and they carried the same link straight to his shop.
Takeaway: Video pins don't need production value, just motion. A five-second phone clip with your usual keywords can out-reach a polished static pin right now.
