Can fixing internal links alone lift traffic without new content?

Can fixing internal links alone lift traffic without new content?

Q: Don't want to write more right now. Will internal linking move anything?

A: Short answer: yes, and faster than you'd think. Longer answer: a SaaS blog had 80 posts but 31 were "orphans" — zero internal links pointing at them. We spent one afternoon adding 3 to 5 contextual links into each orphan from relevant high-traffic posts. No new articles, no rewrites. Within 6 weeks, 18 of those orphans started ranking for the first time, and overall blog traffic rose 22 percent. Internal links pass relevance and crawl signals that orphaned pages simply never receive. It's the cheapest growth lever most people ignore.
