The law firm with one page for eleven cities
Meet a personal injury firm in the Tampa metro. One office, but clients across eleven suburbs. Their website had a single "Service Areas" page listing all eleven towns in a comma-separated paragraph.
They ranked in the map pack at home and nowhere else.
That thin list page was telling Google nothing. Eleven city names in a row is not eleven pages of local relevance — it's one weak signal pretending to be many.
We built eleven genuine landing pages, one per town. Not spun copy — each had a local case result, the relevant county courthouse, a client story from that area, and directions from that suburb.
For a month, three pages indexed and ranked while eight sat motionless.
Then the rest caught, one town a week.
Within 90 days the firm ranked in the local pack for six of the eleven suburbs and held page-one organic for nine. Consultation requests rose 27%.
The lesson: you can't rank in a city you only mention — each location needs a real page with something true and specific only a local would know.
