Low authority is not the same as toxic
The myth: links from low-DR or low-DA sites drag your profile down and should be disavowed.
Reality: authority metrics are third-party inventions (Ahrefs DR, Moz DA) that Google does not use. A low number means the tool sees few links to that site — not that the site is harmful. New, niche, and small legitimate sites all score low and pass perfectly good signal.
Actually, conflating "weak" with "toxic" is the core sleight of hand. Weak links do little. Toxic implies damage. Most low-score links are simply weak — harmless, occasionally helpful.
Reality check: a low DR link isn't poisoning you. It's just quiet — and quiet links are fine to leave alone.
