Why did one box checkbox save a whole email program?
Double opt-in means a new subscriber has to click a confirmation link in a follow-up email before they're officially on your list. It proves the address is real and the person actually wants you.
Why it matters: a small course creator was bouncing at 9% (way over the 2% safe line). Mailboxes were starting to block her.
Here's exactly what she did:
— Step 1: turned on double opt-in in her email tool's signup settings
— Step 2: ✅ rewrote the confirmation email to say plainly "click to get your free guide"
— Step 3: waited 30 days and watched the numbers
Result: bounce rate dropped from 9% to 1.4%, and inbox placement climbed back up.
Tiny homework: open your signup form settings and find the double opt-in toggle. Just locate it today.
