Tracker domain setup — the warm-up checklist
Your tracking domain is the address every ad-network scanner and every user resolves. A misconfigured one gets links rejected or flagged before traffic ever flows.
Pre-flight on any new tracking domain:
— Use a dedicated domain per tracker, never your main brand domain. A flagged tracking domain shouldn't poison your brand.
— Set up the domain on its own (not shared with email-sending). Reputation bleeds across services on the same domain.
— Force HTTPS with a valid cert. Mixed-content or expired cert = browser block + scanner red flag. Auto-renew it.
— Confirm DNS propagation fully before launch — test resolution from multiple GEOs, not just yours.
— Lower the redirect TTL appropriately so you can rotate domains fast if one gets burned.
— Keep 2-3 spare domains pre-configured and pointed at the tracker. When one's flagged, you swap in minutes, not hours.
The operational rule: rotate tracking domains on a schedule for aggressive verticals, before they get burned — not reactively after links die.
Test every new domain with a full click-through and a test conversion before putting spend behind it.
Run this before every launch.
