"Delete your flops so they don't drag the account down"
The received wisdom says dead videos poison your average and the algorithm punishes the whole profile.
A cooking creator I tracked ran the test properly: account at 14k followers, 60 videos, 22 of them under 400 views. She deleted nothing for 90 days, then deleted all 22 in one afternoon.
Next 30 days: median view count moved from 3,100 to 3,050. Inside the noise. Zero lift.
The mechanism: TikTok scores each video against a fresh viewer pool at upload. There's no profile-wide "quality average" feeding distribution. A flop sat in nobody's feed; deleting it removed nothing the system was weighing.
Keep the flops. They cost you nothing and they're free data on what your audience rejected.
