Stop using the em-dash as a crutch.
It's the punctuation of people who can't commit to a period — they keep tacking on — and tacking on — until the thought collapses. A full stop is a weapon. It forces a breath, lands the line, makes the reader feel the beat. Your copy should hit, not trail off.
Write shorter sentences. Fight me.
