The contractor who woke up to a deleted business
Meet a building contractor in Sheffield who opened his laptop one morning to find his Google profile suspended. Twelve years of reviews, gone. No warning, no clear reason. His phone, which rang on Google leads, went quiet.
Suspensions feel like a death sentence and panic makes them worse. Most people create a new listing, which torches their review history forever. We stopped him.
The likely trigger was a recent edit: he'd added a keyword-loaded business name and listed a home address with no signage. We reverted the name, switched to a verified service-area setup, and gathered documents proving the business was real, utility bills, registration, insurance.
Then we filed reinstatement and waited. Eight days of silence, the worst part.
On day nine the profile came back, twelve years of reviews intact.
Within two weeks he was ranking top-three again, leads restored, history preserved. A rebuild would have cost him a decade of trust.
The lesson: never abandon a suspended profile. Fix the cause, document everything, and appeal, the reviews are worth fighting for.
