Pay as fast as your validation window honestly allows, then make the date sacred. For affiliates, payment reliability outranks payment speed. A program that pays net-30 on the same day every month beats one that pays net-15 'usually'.
Practical guidance:
— Set a fixed payout day, a clear minimum threshold ($50-100), and one default method.
— Don't pay faster than your refunds settle, or you'll claw back constantly and erode trust anyway.
— For trusted high-volume partners, offer net-15 or weekly as a perk they earn, not the default.
Caveat: the threshold can quietly trap small affiliates whose balance never reaches it, so they churn feeling unpaid. Either keep it low or auto-pay any balance after 90 days regardless. The cheapest loyalty you can buy is a payment that always arrives exactly when you said it would.
