The Value-Density Rule for Channels
Dead channels aren't a posting problem, they're a density problem. Too many channels spread the same activity thin until each one looks empty.
The audit and consolidation SOP:
☐ List every channel and its posts-per-day over the last 14 days
☐ Any channel under 1 post/day is a candidate to merge or archive
☐ Merge overlapping topics — "resources" and "tools" are the same channel
☐ Cap total channels at one per ~30 active members
☐ Archive, don't delete — preserve history, remove the empty room
The trigger to add a channel: an existing one is flooding (40+ posts/day), not a hypothetical future need.
Fewer, fuller channels feel alive. Members judge a community by the first room they open — make sure it's never empty.
Save this for your next launch.
