Deep-dive: Lasso for affiliate display boxes — Verdict 7/10
Lasso is the 'product box + link health' all-in-one a lot of review sites default to.
What it nails:
— Pretty display boxes, comparison tables, and Amazon API price/image refresh in one plugin
— Broken/redirected link monitoring that actually emails you
— Geo-localizes Amazon links so UK clicks hit amazon.co.uk
Where it bites:
— Subscription pricing is steep for a single small site, and it's per-site
— Boxes inject markup + CSS that can hurt LCP if you stack many above the fold
— Migrating OFF Lasso is painful; boxes are shortcodes, so removal leaves debris
For: Multi-site Amazon-heavy publishers who want display + link health + geo in one paid tool.
NOT for: A single niche site on a budget, or anyone allergic to shortcode lock-in.
Gotcha nobody mentions: Lasso's Amazon image/price sync depends on YOUR PA-API access. Lose API access (low sales) and the boxes silently show stale or no images. The plugin can't fix an Amazon problem.
Bottom line: Great glue for serious Amazon portfolios, overkill and sticky for one small site. 7/10.
