PageSpeed Insights tests one URL — Search Console groups them
Two tools show Core Web Vitals, and they don't match because they look at different scopes.
PageSpeed Insights examines a single URL at a time, like inspecting one apartment. Search Console's Core Web Vitals report groups similar pages together and judges them as a building.
This is why one product page can look 'good' in PageSpeed Insights while Search Console flags the whole product-page group as 'needs improvement' — the group includes pages you didn't test.
1. Use PageSpeed Insights to debug a specific page.
2. Use Search Console to see which groups of pages have problems at scale.
3. Fix the shared template, and the whole group improves at once.
That template insight is the real power — one fix, hundreds of pages.
Try this: open Search Console's Core Web Vitals report and click a failing group. It shows example URLs sharing the same flaw.
