The page tells you what kind of answer to write
Today's lesson: before writing anything, read the SERP — short for Search Engine Results Page, the whole page you get after searching. Its layout quietly tells you what Google thinks searchers want.
Think of it like walking into a room and reading it. Folding chairs mean a lecture; couches mean a casual chat. You adjust before you speak.
Here's how to read the room:
1. Lots of shopping listings? Searchers want to buy — write a product or comparison page.
2. A snippet plus People Also Ask? They want a quick answer — be clear and direct.
3. A video carousel up high? They'd rather watch — consider making a video too.
If you write a long guide where Google wants a shop, you'll struggle no matter how good your writing is.
Try this: search your target keyword and describe the page in one sentence. Does your planned content match it? 🎓
