<b>Divi 5: did the React rewrite fix the bloat?</b>
Divi's reputation was built on heavy shortcode output and a laggy editor. Divi 5 rewrote the engine on React with a new data model. Worth re-reviewing on its own merits.
Real wins: the editor is dramatically faster, the abstraction layer means lighter front-end markup, and styles are no longer crammed inline per-module.
Still rough: migration from Divi 4 layouts isn't always clean, and the front-end still ships a meaningful JS payload versus Bricks or Gutenberg.
Pros:
— Far snappier builder, cleaner CSS output than Divi 4
— Lifetime license still covers it
Cons:
— Front-end JS weight remains above lean builders
— Some 4-to-5 layout migrations need manual cleanup
Best for: existing Divi shops wanting modern speed without leaving the ecosystem they know.
