Popular belief: explain the full offer so they have everything they need to decide.
Myth. Length signals desperation, not diligence. Nobody reads a 200-word cold DM; they scan, see effort spent on you instead of them, and bail. More words lower your status, not raise it.
It's not that detail hurts — it's that detail belongs <i>after</i> they raise a hand. The cold message has one job: earn a reply. Save the deck for the people who asked to see it.
