Hot reminder: promoting a lifetime deal can poison your recurring forever
Lifetime deals (one payment, use it forever) look like easy commission. They quietly euthanize your future.
Why this is a trap:
— You earn once on a one-time fee. There is no recurring, by definition. The "recurring SaaS" pitch evaporates.
— Every LTD buyer you send is a customer who will never pay monthly, so you've converted a potential recurring stream into a single small check.
— LTDs attract the cheapest, most refund-happy buyers. Clawback rates on these promos are brutal.
— Vendors run LTDs when they need cash now, often a yellow flag on the product's health.
The affiliate who skipped the LTD and sent ten monthly buyers instead is still getting paid next year. You're not.
Verdict: lifetime deals give the customer forever and give you one paycheck.
