<b>Hashtags are not a distribution channel anymore</b>
Everyone says: "Add 3-5 niche hashtags so people following that tag discover you."
The claim: tags route your post to interested topic-followers.
What's actually true: LinkedIn quietly gutted hashtag-following discovery — those topic feeds barely surface anything and almost nobody browses them. Tags now function mainly as weak keyword context for the algorithm, not as a delivery pipe. Stuffing five does nothing for reach and makes the post look spammy to humans, which costs you the only thing that matters: the human reply. One or two as plain keywords, fine. Treating them as a growth lever, no.
It's not the tags. It's that the tag feed is a ghost town.
