Playbook: Configure broker failover routing so capped offers don't waste traffic
What it is: A tracker setup that reroutes clicks to a backup broker when the primary hits its FTD cap, pauses, or goes offline.
Best for: Affiliates running volume into forex offers that cap daily or disable without notice.
The setup:
— List 2–3 brokers covering the same GEO with comparable payouts and risk profiles.
— In your tracker, build a path with weighted distribution or a rule: send to Broker A until cap, then shift to B.
— Detect 'down' states: monitor the offer URL for redirects-to-error or 'registration closed' and auto-pause that path. Don't rely on the broker telling you.
— Match GEO and compliance rules per broker — a backup that doesn't accept your GEO is worse than no backup.
— Keep separate postback URLs per broker so attribution stays clean across the failover.
Pros:
— Stops paying for clicks that hit a dead or capped offer
— Smooths revenue when one broker pauses mid-day
Cons:
— Splitting volume can slow you toward each broker's volume bonuses
— More moving parts means more places for postback mismaps
Who should skip this: Single-broker exclusive deals where rerouting breaches your terms.
Verdict: Cap hit, route onward.
