What is EPC, in plain English
New to sweeps? This is the one number that tells you if a campaign is alive or dying.
EPC = Earnings Per Click. It means: for every single click you send, how much money came back, on average.
The formula is simple. Total earnings divided by total clicks.
Worked example. You sent 500 clicks to a sweep. You earned $90.
— $90 ÷ 500 clicks = $0.18 EPC
So each click was worth 18 cents to you, on average. Now compare that to what each click cost you to buy.
— If clicks cost you $0.12 each, you made $0.06 per click. Profit.
— If clicks cost you $0.25 each, you lost $0.07 per click. Stop and rethink.
EPC is powerful because it lets you compare two completely different offers fairly, even when their payouts and pages look nothing alike. The higher EPC offer is usually the smarter place to send traffic.
One caution for beginners: EPC needs enough clicks to be trustworthy. With only 20 clicks, one lucky lead can fool you. Wait for at least 200-300 clicks before you believe the number.
Next step: find the EPC field in your network's offer list and sort offers from highest to lowest. Just read it for now.
