Getting a brand-new page crawled fast — the boring checklist that works
Forget "submit to Google" buttons as a strategy. Discovery is a linking problem. For a new URL:
— Link to it from a page Google already crawls often — your homepage or a hub, not a buried archive.
— Add it to the sitemap with an honest lastmod.
— Make sure nothing in robots.txt or meta blocks it.
— Use URL Inspection → Request Indexing ONCE for the priority page. It's a nudge, not a pipeline.
— Don't spam Request Indexing across 500 URLs — it's rate-limited and won't scale.
Here's the thing: Google finds pages mainly by following links. A page linked from a frequently-crawled page gets discovered in hours; an orphan can wait weeks.
Discovery is internal linking. "Request Indexing" is a courtesy, not a strategy.
