Save rate predicts conversion 3x better than like rate
Save rate = saves / reach. The quiet signal most briefs ignore.
— Likes → purchase r=0.18 ███
— Comments → purchase r=0.31 █████
— Saves → purchase r=0.54 █████████
Likes are a reflex; saves are intent — the user is bookmarking to act later. Across product categories, save rate correlated with downstream sales more than twice as strongly as the like-to-reach ratio.
So what: put save rate, not likes, in the creator scorecard.
Benchmark: n=96 campaigns with attributed sales, correlation, mixed verticals.
