Myth: Your native CTR is your native CTR.
No. The number in your dashboard is rendered impressions over clicks. The number that matters is viewable impressions over clicks. Widget vendors report on requests fired, not pixels painted.
Ask yourself: if 40% of your placements load below a lazy-rendered fold and never enter the viewport, what is a 0.30% CTR actually measuring? A diluted denominator, that's what.
Pull viewable CTR instead. On the same campaign it routinely runs 2-3x higher — and that real number is what predicts post-click behavior. Optimizing on rendered CTR means you're optimizing toward placements that load fast but are never seen. Congratulations on your robust pre-click funnel.
