Why your real payout is lower than the offer page says
Q: The offer pays $40 CPA but my actual revenue per lead is way under that. Did I get scammed?
A: Probably not — you met the scrub rate. Many advertisers reject a slice of leads (duplicates, low intent, geos they don't want) and only pay on the rest. A 20% scrub on a $40 offer means your effective payout is $32, not $40.
What to do:
— Ask your manager point-blank: "What's the current scrub rate on this offer?"
— Track approved vs raw conversions separately in your tracker
— Compare net payout across offers, not headline numbers
A dirty $50 offer scrubbing 40% loses to a clean $35 offer scrubbing 5%.
Short version: judge offers on net-of-scrub payout, not the sticker price. More Qs? Drop them.
