How to evaluate whether a niche edit is worth buying.
Most people look at DA/DR first. That's a mistake. Domain-level metrics tell you almost nothing about the specific page where your link will live.
Here's the checklist that actually matters:
1. Page-level organic traffic — use Ahrefs or Semrush. A page with 500+ monthly visitors from search is a real editorial asset.
2. Topical relevance — the article should be about something your target page would naturally be referenced in. A link from a vague "marketing tips" roundup is weak even on a high-DR site.
3. Existing outbound links — if the page already links to 40 other sites, you're competing for link equity with everyone else.
4. Anchor text context — the two sentences surrounding your link matter. Google reads context, not just anchor text.
5. Link longevity — ask the seller how long links stay live. Anything under 12 months is renting, not building.
A niche edit on a topically aligned, traffic-getting page with 3-5 outbound links will outperform a guest post on a DR 80 site any day.
