This issue: bookmark these instead of guessing. Free/authoritative sources for GEO decisions (pointers, not reviews).
— → World Bank country income groups: the cleanest neutral baseline for "how rich is this GEO." → data.worldbank.org.
— → StatCounter GlobalStats: free OS / browser / device share by country — your wealth-and-tech proxy. → gs.statcounter.com.
— → EF English Proficiency Index: ranks countries by English ability — your localization-debt predictor. → ef.com/epi.
— → GSMA Mobile Economy reports: mobile penetration, data affordability, mobile-money rails by region. → gsma.com.
— → Each central bank's payment report: the single best source for "how do people actually pay here" — boringly authoritative, free. → search "[country] central bank payment systems report."
— → National gambling/ad regulators: for compliance-sensitive verticals, the regulator's own site beats any third-party summary.
Rule of thumb: build GEO calls on primary sources (central banks, statistical offices), not forum folklore. The data is free; the edge is in reading it.
