Virality lives in the gap between setup and payoff. Too small, it's obvious and gets a nod. Too big, it's confusing and gets a scroll. You're tuning a distance.

The SOP:
1. Write the payoff first — the punchline, the reveal, the twist.
2. Write three setups: one obvious, one absurd, one slightly-too-far.
3. Rate each gap on a 1-10 'surprise but makes sense' scale.
4. Ship the 7-8. The 9-10 confuses; the sub-6 bores.
5. Log which gap-size won this week — your audience has a sweet spot.

Input: a payoff. Output: a calibrated hook that's surprising and legible.

When to run it: drafting any reveal-based meme.
Run it weekly.
