I watched 10 session replays before building a single variant
Used to brainstorm test ideas from my gut at 11pm. Hit rate was rough — maybe 1 in 5 won.
New process: before I build any variant, I watch 10-15 session recordings and read every form-error rage-click.
Last week's replays showed people rage-clicking a 'pricing' link that scrolled them to a section with no actual prices. Pure frustration. I'd never have guessed it.
Fixed it as a test. +13% to checkout.
Qualitative finds the problem. Quantitative proves the fix. Skipping the first step means you A/B test random guesses.
— Open your session recording tool
— Watch 10 replays of people who bounced
Go find ONE real friction point on tape, then test the fix. Report back.
