Won't an easy unsubscribe button cost me subscribers?
It feels scary to make leaving easy. But a clear unsubscribe link actually protects you — and it's now required by Gmail for bulk senders.
Why it matters: when unsubscribing is hard, frustrated people hit "mark as spam" instead. Spam complaints hurt far more than a quiet unsubscribe ever could.
✅ Do this:
— Put a visible unsubscribe link in every email, near the bottom
— Make it one click — no "log in to manage preferences" maze
— Never hide it in tiny gray text
Letting someone leave gently is like holding the door open — they walk out calm instead of slamming it (which is what a spam complaint feels like to inboxes).
Homework: check that your unsubscribe link works in one click.
