<b>No, your CDN cache is not a backup, and I'm tired of explaining this.</b>
When your origin dies, that cached HTML serves stale for minutes, then expires into glorious 502s. It holds no database, no admin, no source files — just frozen output with a death clock.
Same energy: your Git repo is your code, not your user data. Your email isn't your CRM. A staging copy isn't a backup either.
Things that happen to hold a copy of something are not backups. A backup is a deliberate, restorable, isolated copy you made on purpose.
Stop counting accidental copies as a recovery plan. Change my mind.
