That flat 65% line everyone brags about? It's an average that hides the only thing that matters: the slope of the first derivative. A video that loses viewers slowly and steadily is dying. A video that dips then <i>recovers</i> at the 40-second mark is teaching the algorithm that something good is coming.
Stop chasing a high average. Chase a graph with bumps going up. Flat is death dressed as success.
