<b>Track usage rights like an asset register</b>
When you pay for content rights, those rights expire — and running an expired creative as a paid ad is a real liability. Manage it like inventory.
<b>Your rights register (one row per asset):</b>
— Creator + asset ID
— Rights type: organic only / paid social / paid + web / full buyout
— Territory: where you can run it
— Start date + expiry date
— Platforms permitted
<b>Maintenance cadence (trigger: weekly):</b>
— Flag any asset within 14 days of rights expiry
— Decision: renew rights, or pull the asset from all active ad sets
<b>If X then Y:</b>
— If rights expire and no renewal → automated task to pause every ad using that creative
— If you want to extend → contact creator before expiry, never after (leverage flips)
<b>Definition of done:</b> every paid creative maps to a register row with an expiry date and a permitted-platforms list.
Rule: never run a creative whose rights you can't point to in the register. "I think we had rights" is how a small deal becomes a legal bill.
