What's that gray text next to my subject line?
That little line after the subject is the preview text (also called preheader). It's the second headline most people read before deciding to open — and most beginners leave it blank.
Why it matters: if you ignore it, inboxes grab the first random words of your email ("View in browser...") — a wasted chance to pull someone in.
✅ Do this:
— Find the "preview text" field in your email editor
— Write one short line that adds to the subject, doesn't repeat it
— Keep it under about 50 characters so phones don't cut it off
Subject and preview are a tag team: the subject opens the door, the preview text invites you through.
Homework: add real preview text to your next email instead of leaving it empty.
