My email isn't in spam — it's in the Promotions tab. Is that bad?
Gmail sorts mail into tabs: Primary, Promotions, Social. The Promotions tab isn't spam — it's just where marketing mail quietly stacks up. Still, fewer people scroll there.
Why it matters: landing in Primary means more eyes. Promotions means you're competing with every other newsletter and coupon.
✅ Do this:
— Write like a person, not a flyer — less "SALE," more real talk
— Trim the salesy footer clutter and stacked promo links
— Ask new subscribers, in your welcome email, to drag you to Primary
Promotions is like the mall directory: you're listed, but Primary is being a name they already know.
Homework: check which tab your last email landed in (test on your own Gmail).
New here? Start with the basics above.
